Bruselas (1564) - (1638)
Hijo de Pieter Brueghel el Joven y nieto de Brueghel el Viejo, es el último miembro de una gran dinastía de pintores flamencos. Su pintura resulta francamente de menor calidad que la de sus antecesores; se dedicó a copiar la obra de su padre, adaptándola superficialmente a los gustos de su generación. Sus cuadros eran ornamentados con espectaculares efectos de fuego e incendios, algo aprendido en la pintura del Bosco y de Patinir, que lo usaban como una técnica para crear efectos atmosféricos y de lejanía. El abuso de esta técnica fue lo que le valió su apodo, D'Enfer, que en francés significa Bruehgel del Infierno. En España hay pocas obras suyas, aunque una de ellas puede admirarse en el Museo del Prado, un Paisaje Invernal.

Son of Pieter Brueghel the Youth and grandson of Brueghel the Old one, is the last member of a great dynasty of flamenco painters. Their painting is frankly of smaller quality that that of its predecessors; he/she was devoted to copy their father's work, adapting it superficially to the likes of their generation. Their squares were ornamented with spectacular fire effects and fires, something learned in the painting of the Bosco and of Patinir that used it like a technique to create atmospheric effects and of distance. The abuse of this technique was what was worth him its nickname, D'Enfer that in French Bruehgel of the Hell means. In Spain there is few his works, although one of them can be admired in the Museum of the Grassland, a Winter Landscape.
