Pieta Andrea del Sarto"
Andrea del Sarto. Andrea d'Agnolo di Francesco
Nationality: Italy
Florencia (1486) - Florencia (1530)
Style: Italian Renaissance, Cinquecento, Italian School
Andrea del Sarto was formed in the Florentine environment working first with a goldsmith and later Piero I met Cosimo. In his painting it he, stands out the influence of Rafael and Leonardo, two of the painters that more was admiring. Surely he, did two trips to Rome and one to Venice. Francisco I, king of France invited the year 1518, and remained to his Court for one year, returning to Florence 1519. His style, in spite of having been formed to Florence, has more extracted Venetians that Florentine, in his(its) wide scale of colors. His only documented works are the Palace of the Consuls in Gubbio, which began 1532, and Cittá's town hall I gave Castello. his life and works have been deeply studied and admired in the century XIX and the poem of R. Browning described Andrea del Sarto as man of great talent and very reflexive. The "frescos" The Birth of the Virgin Mary of 1514 and the Virgin Mary of Sack of 1525 are in Holy Annunziata of Florence and in them they appreciate clearly the characteristics of the Renaissance. Other interesting works are The Virgin Mary of the Harpies (1517) of classic cut and the Sacred Family, his favorite topic. They were his disciples Pontormo and Rosso.
